Resin Bumper

Bumper & Reinforcement. Adopting bumper reinforcement inside the resin bumper ensures the same rigidity as metal bumper.

Side Door Beam

The impact beams are mounted inside the left and right doors. They help reduce deformation of the door openings in case of collision, contributing to the protection of occupants.

Seatbelt with ELR (Emergency Locking Retractor)

ELR helps to hold passengers by locking the belt at collision. On the other hand, the feeling of tightness while wearing the seatbelt under normal conditions is reduced by adding an anchor attached to the seat. Moreover, a new seatbelt winding device is adopted, which contributes to keeping an appropriate fastening position regardless of the seat position.

The J Series engines on the HINO 500 series are based on low-emission, fuel- efficient technologies that HINO can be proud of. For example, the engine employs a “common rail fuel injection system”- a cooperative engine control system – with the aim of achieving optimum control of the fuel injection process to produce low NOx and PM emissions as well as enhanced fuel efficiency and low CO2 emissions. The engine units of the HINO 500 series were designed with HINO’s advanced technology and for contributing to reducing the operation costs of business.

Total comfort for the driver

The concept of keyword for the driver’s space is “Roundish & Flat space interior”. The top edge of the instrument panel is designed low to keep good front visibility. Switches used while driving are all laid out for easy viewing and operation.

In addition to good visibility and operability, the interior environment of the HINO 500 series is loaded with various ideas that aim to deliver a sense of security and envelop its occupants such as the driver’s seat, which has been designed to provide a good bucket seat feel, the cabin’s spacious legroom, and its black/tray interior, which gives the cabin a premium feel.

The steering wheel’s position is adjustable up and down.

Combination Meter

A new high-visibility display is adopted. The layout of the driver information display was rearranged based on ergonomics. A liquid crystal display and warning light area provide high visibility.

5 Din Center Cluster

Highly expandable center cluster. 5 DIN spaces are provided for various devices such as audio equipment.

Overhead Console

It allows to take out A4-size documents, maps etc. easily.

Map Lamp

This lamp provides illumination in dark environments.

Ease of Operation

The new cab design provides a more comfortable working environment for the driver, in particular when it comes to riding comfort.

Cab Suspension

A semi-float (rubber type) construction was adopted for the cab mount and mounting bushes were added. Road vibrations are reduced, providing better ride comfort and reducing cabin noise.

Driver’s Seat

The seats were re-designed to better fit the driver’s body and alleviate fatigue on long-distance driving. With reclining and seat sliding functions, the seat provides an optimal driving position and contributes to reducing driver fatigue.

Air Vent

The layout of vents is efficient to circulate air well inside the cabin. Easy-to-use dial control is adopted.

Suspended Pedal Unit

These pedals are designed with the aim of allowing drivers to step down on the pedals towards the floor in a natural motion without having to fully extend their foot. The pedals are also adjusted to the ideal height with the aim of reducing fatigue.

Taper-leaf Suspension

With fewer leaves, the taper-leaf suspension is designed with the aim of producing less inter-leaf friction and delivering a flat riding feel. With few high-strength components, the suspension also delivers high durability.

Inside Grips for Driver’s Seat

It helps the driver getting in/out safely and productively. A large inside grip is mounted on the pillar of the driver’s seat. The driver can be helped to get in/out of the cab easily and safely.
